I am a minimalist and, when it comes to photography gear, I find that simplicity is best. I focus on keeping my lens list short and being about to rock the lenses I do own really well. For me and my gear, less is more and quality is better than quantity.
Nikon D750 My primary camera for my everyday and client work is the Nikon D750. I love the D750 because it has a flip screen that is great for composing images and it takes amazing video, which I enjoy creating for family home videos. I also use a NIkon D610 and Nikon D600, as backup cameras. I find it best to bring an extra camera body to sessions so I can put one lens on each camera to avoid switching out lenses, which wastes time.
The Sigma ART 24mm f/1.4 lens literally changed my photography life. Because I am a lifestyle photographer and my portfolio includes images that document everyday life, having a wide angle lens is a must. Having a wide angle allows me to include more of my story within the frame. This lens works well in small spaces, allowing me to be confident photographing in any client home. The glass on this lens is exquisite, allowing me to achieve sharp and crisp photos. Sigma ART 24mm f/1.4
I have a 50mm for portraits and love the creamy images I can achieve with my Sigma ART 50mm f/1.4 lens. It's low aperture capability allows me to create dreamy blurred backgrounds and bokeh, while also allowing me to achieve a crisp portrait of an individual. I use this lens during my family sessions and love that it is an all around great lens to keep on my camera, as it works well in low light. This lens is my go to lens when it comes to portraits during my client family sessions. Sigma ART 50mm f/1.4
