Come Fly With Me by Bethany Deschamp

mother’s day found our weather finally turning beautiful, which was a gift indeed.  after a week of rain and chilly weather, we were graced with an 80 degree day and we jumped at the chance to spend it outdoors with our little girl.  having tried swinging on a swing a couple months ago, our little girl was very unimpressed.  after the beautiful weather begged us to go outdoors, we thought trying the swings again would be a fun idea.  and she loved it!  she was very curiously watching the other younger children on the playground equipment, and the boys bouncing their basketball on the adjacent court also kept her entertained.  but we also saw a smile or two as we bravely pushed her higher and higher into the air.  as i over photographed the moment and took countless images, i couldn’t help but hum “come fly with me,” and was inspired to portray the movement of the swing and the wind that played with her baby hair.  and that mustard bow was so well thought out, as i wanted to be sure to capture a pop of color amongst a setting that i knew would be fairly neutral and bland.  as most playgrounds are.

as a mama, my goal was to photograph my baby’s first year perfectly.  to inspire you to do the same, be sure to read the first twelve.
