hey there, teeny tiny!

it was only ten days ago that i wrote the first letter to you, but there is so always so much to say that i find myself sitting down again with a million words in my head that i need to write down.  i just don’t want to forget even one moment of our pregnancy because it has been the best experience of our life.  we had your 20 week appointment and you are just as perfect as we knew you would be.  the doctor said you are doing fantastic, and mommy got an A+ in being pregnant.

i continue to brag, “it’s so easy!” when others ask me how i am feeling.  not a touch of morning sickness, except for a couples moments of, “well, maybe i feel nauseaus.”  and that only happened about 5 times and for 5 minutes.  we’ve got this, little one.  we are just having the best time and you are making it so easy to have such a blissful experience!  and they always say that easy pregnancies make easy babies, so maybe that will be true too!

by now you can taste food, and as you very well know, my only noticeable craving is spaghetti.  poor daddy has been such a champ and whenever he comes through the door to see spaghetti on the table he says, “no worries, mama bear!  i love spaghetti!”  we now even know the secret ingredients to your great grandma’s spaghetti sauce and can make it all by ourselves, it’s oh so delicious and makes the house smell heavenly!  sometimes daddy and i wonder if you will be born with a spaghetti noodle on your cute little forehead. but at least we are eating healthy!  no junk for you and your cute little belly.  only the best for us.

the doctor also gave us a picture of your cute little feet, which they were barely able to get a photo of because you are kicking like crazy!  we felt your first kick at 17 weeks 6 days and you have been kicking ever since.  especially after daddy’s homemade chicken enchiladas…you definitely did a happy dance after i shared those with you!  and when i say share, it’s not really true.  you don’t really share food, darling one.  you take it!  i haven’t felt full since being pregnant, but i don’t mind you taking my food.  you just keep growing and growing so we can meet you soon!

and with how quickly you grow, i am a little nervous at all the beautiful clothes that are hanging in your closet.  your wardrobe is so darling, your daddy thinks you will be the best dressed baby there ever was.  which is totally going to be true because mommy thoughtfully styled your wardrobe.  we wonder if we might need to change your outfit a couple times a day to get through all those clothes before you grow out of them.  but that’s okay, you will just have a morning, afternoon, and evening look!  there’s nothing wrong with that.

we have our christmas tree up and you have more presents under the tree that i do!  and that’s the way we like it.  you are our everything and love that everyone simply wants to spoil you, we are just starting the spoiling early.  daddy said that i could open your presents for you, he is just sweet like that.  he is also going to make us a very yummy homemade spaghetti and meatball dinner on christmas day.  it’s our tradition.  we eat his scrumptious spaghetti and watch “a christmas story” every year.  and next year you will be with us and we will start all of our new traditions as a family of three!  i already have your little organic cotton christmas jammies all picked out and we are dreaming about all the fun things we will do next christmas with you.

once again, you are ready for lunch and it’s time to feed you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some fresh grapes on the side!  even though you twist and turn all day long, your biggest kicks come after we eat so i always get excited to have a snack so i can feel you.  although when i get nervous that you are still, your daddy does have to remind me that you need your sleep so you can grow nice and strong!

18 more weeks, little one!  our greatest adventure begins in just 18 weeks!  it’ll be here in a blink of an eye.

love, mommy
