when photographing my everyday, there is definitely a lens that literally lives on my camera and is my go to.  my photography style is very lifestyle driven, in that i love to take organic and honest images of what is truly happening throughout my day.  being a lifestyle photographer, it is also important for me to incorporate the surroundings of my home, as well as my intended subject, in each image.  including the surroundings within my frame helps me to be a better storyteller with my photography.  when it comes to photography my daily life, the best lens for everyday photography is a no-brainer.

the best lens for everyday photography is my sigma art 24mm f/1.4 lens.  i am a huge fan of a wide angle lens, and i feel that using a wide angle has completely changed my photography for the better.  when it comes to photographing my everyday, i love to include the surrounding within my frame because i think it helps to set the scene and tell the story better.  using a 50mm is wonderful, but it doesn’t allow me to get more detail within my frame without having to take a major step back.

because my everyday contains a variety of different light, my sigma art 24mm f/1.4 lens is the best lens for everyday photography because it works really well in low light.  i am able to choose a lower aperture, like f/1.4, to allow more light into my photo when i am photographing in a darker space.  this allows me the freedom to photograph during any part of my day, no matter the light.

the sigma art 24mm f/1.4 lens is the best lens for everyday photography because it works well in any space, big or small.  this is also why i love to bring it to client sessions as well, as it makes working in any space very easy because of it’s wide angle.  i love that i don’t have to take a step back to get the photo i want.  i am able to get fairly close to my subject, while including more within the frame.

one of the biggest reasons why the sigma art 24mm f/1.4 is the best lens for everyday photography is because the quality of this lens is stellar.  this lens takes images that are noticeable more crisp than lenses i have owned in the past, making my images look amazing.  there is something to be said about investing in good lenses with quality glass.

i have been photographing exclusively with my sigma art 24mm f/1.4 lens for almost 6 months and i have noticed such an improvement in my images.  i am able to tell more interesting stories because of the wide angle capability and i feel like i am getting the photos i want the first time, since i am not wasting time stepping back from my subject or having to be more thoughtful about creating distance between myself and my surroundings.  if you are looking for the best lens for everyday photography, this wide angle lens is absolutely it.
