A Special Elf Delivery | Taking Christmas Themed Photos

yesterday was such a beautiful day with my children.  they both slept good, allowing me to enjoy some quiet bible study in the morning with my coffee and christmas tree before they awoke for the day.  then our elf on the shelf, Oliver was found swinging from the dining room lights and brought a sweet little christmas treasure to the girls: a little mouse in a jar.  needless to say, the fact that this little mouse is decorating his own little christmas tree which lights up within the jar absolutely thrills our girls and the wonderment in their eyes is very telling of the magical feeling of christmas.  of course, the camera had to come out for taking christmas themed photos before our day’s adventures began.

i feel like i start prepping for christmas around the end of summer, picking up little trinkets for the girls to surprise them with throughout the christmas season.  my husband calls our third empty bedroom “the north pole,” as it regularly houses a little pile of goodies to surprise the girls with in the weeks leading up to christmas.  and double win, these little treats always provide fun photo opportunities, allowing time for taking christmas themed photos.  our elf loves surprising the girls with christmas pajamas, christmas crafts, snow globes and books to make the wait for christmas a little more fun.

after our morning photo shoot, we went to read stories with santa…where my oldest reminded him how much she would really like a baby crib for her doll, just in case he had forgotten in the last 24 hours since seeing him the evening prior at the mall.  luckily, “the north pole” has the perfect little crib patiently awaiting christmas morning.
